Mobility & Safety
Mobility and safety support helps residents move through everyday life with the right amount of help. Caregivers assist with walking, transfers, and safe movement while encouraging confidence and independence whenever possible.

What Do Mobility and Transfers Mean?
Mobility support helps a person move through ordinary parts of the day with the right amount of assistance.
Walking Support
Steadying help, reminders, or assistance with a walker or other device identified in the care plan.
A Transfer
Moving safely from one place to another, such as bed to chair, chair to toilet, or standing up to walk.
Positioning
Helping a resident sit, rest, or lie in a comfortable and supported position.
Daily Safety
Keeping pathways clear, using good lighting, wearing safe footwear, and providing supervision when needed.
Support That Protects Confidence
The goal is not to stop movement. It is to make movement safer while preserving as much independence as possible.
The caregiver gives simple directions, waits for the resident to respond, and avoids rushing a transfer.
The amount of help can change from one day or one activity to another.
Changes in balance, strength, walking, pain, or confidence can be noticed and communicated.
